Broadside Vol. 23 #2

The Atlanta Early Music Alliance

Oct 9, 2022

Volume 23 #2 (October-December 2022)

A flurry of wonderful activities has happened these past few months, and many more are on the way! From grants and concerts to outreach events and workshop registrations, we are in the middle of a robust boom of early music activities in Atlanta. The past three months have included exquisite concerts by Amethyst Baroque Ensemble, the vocal ensemble EarlyBird, André Laurent O’Neil of New Trinity Baroque, and the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra.

Over the next few months, we will enjoy even more concerts from the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, New Trinity Baroque, Concordia Vocal Ensemble, and the Amethyst Baroque Ensemble. We are also fortunate to welcome the reemergence of two in-person workshops in our area. 2023 will bring about the in-person resurrection of Mid-Winter workshop (Jan. 20-22) and Music on the Mountain (Feb. 24-26.)

Both workshops will be in new locations. Instead of being hosted at McCleskey, the Mid-Winter Workshop will be convening ten miles south at Dickerson Middle School. Music on the Mountain, however, is making a significant change: a move to Dahlonega, GA! MotM will be hosted at the Forrest Hills Mountain Resort and Conference Center. Registration is already underway, so hurry to reserve your spot if you wish to attend: www.gritsandgambas.org.

We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming concerts and workshops; follow the links above for more information, and check the Broadside’s calendar of events for dates!
