Happy New Year, AEMA!
This January’s Broadside comes with a reminder that registration for our 2024 Mid-Winter Workshop is live! We are hosting incredible faculty this year, and I look forward to seeing a large attendance. It will be held at Dickerson Middle School from January 19-21. Please contact me with any questions or concerns regarding the facilities, especially if you attended last year and have an idea of how the workshop could be improved. Read on for an article that will both reminisce on last year’s workshop and promote our offerings for Mid-Winter 2024.
We are lucky to have had such an active concert season in the Atlanta area. The past few months brought us concerts from the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, Lauda Musicam of Atlanta, Amethyst Baroque Ensemble, Sol Divino, Eclectic Collective, Concordia Vocal Ensemble, Atlanta Schola Cantorum, and solo recitals from Gregory Hamilton! I hope everyone has had the opportunity to enjoy some live early music and support these musicians.
Finally, I would like to thank every active AEMA member and those who have made additional donations to our organization. AEMA uses its finances for two main goals: to approve grants for projects or concerts in our area and to support the Mid-Winter Workshop. Our Mid-Winter organization team does an incredible job of being economical with our budget while still providing extraordinary opportunities and putting on a marvelous workshop experience. The best way to support AEMA and its mission is to keep active membership throughout the year. If you have any issues with the new membership system, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
